We will discuss your vision, style, and display ideas. This is also where we book your session fee, and lock in your consultation and session dates.
2. In-home Consultation
I don’t want you to feel stressed or overwhelmed. Together we will work through all the details for a successful and stress-free session. We’ll even look through your wardrobe and select pieces to kickstart your outfit selections!
3. Portrait Session
Professional makeup artistry will make you look and feel your best! Our relaxed portrait experience is enhanced with guided posing and all the tips and tricks for creating the best Family portraits.
4. Installation Day
Not only will you get to select and finalize your order from the comfort of your own home, I will personally install your portraits on your walls! Your photographs will keep your legacy alive for generations!

Where are you located?
Our studio is conveniently located near Allen Parkway. The address is 805 Rhode Place, Ste 100, Houston, TX 77019. We also offer complete location flexibility and will travel for your photography session.
When can I see my photos?
We typically schedule your in-home ordering appointment just a few days after your session. We find this works best for families, allowing dad and the kids to be comfortable and participate in big or small ways easily. However, with proper planning/scheduling, we can review images immediately after an in-studio session.
I’m very self-conscious about my skin, will you edit the photos?
Absolutely! Your portraits should highlight your favorite qualities about yourself. We apply standard retouching to all purchased images. We want you to look like the very best version of you!
What should we wear?
First and foremost, you should be comfortable and stylish! Included in your session is an in-home consultation. We will go through the vision of your shoot and we will plan outfits that work with your vision and style.
Preserving the real you is paramount, and we want to make sure that your family's essence feels truly captured in front of the camera.
How far in advanced should we book our family session?
For families, at least a month in advance. Our Saturday sessions are the first to fill up, especially in peak seasons. Booking your session in advance gives you the security of knowing your date is reserved just for you. And since we only photograph one family on each shoot day, availability is extremely limited. By booking a few months out, it gives us time to plan effectively. It also gives you time to curate the perfect wardrobe.
Can we bring along the family pet?
Houston’s Luxury Family Portrait Photographer welcomes every member of the family. Dogs, bunnies, llamas, horses, everything but your cat! Just kidding, I'm happy to shoot your cat too... Let’s just make sure they’re groomed, well behaved, and on a leash. Want a special tip? Bring their favorite toy and a few treats so we can ensure they are stay happy throughout the session!
My family can be a bit rowdy, will you be able to accommodate for my children?
As a father of young children, I am used to a little bit of chaos all the time. Our process is designed to make everyone in your family happy and comfortable, even dad. We never want anyone to feel rushed during your session, and we want you to walk away feeling cared for and known.
Can you accommodate location changes within a session?
We can! Our extended session allows us to choose up to 4 locations. This is perfect for personal branding, seniors, or simply having that “Model for a Day” experience.
How much do you charge for a session?
Our session fee varies depending on your needs. On your discovery call, we can understand which session type is going to serve you best. Our clients invest anywhere between $1500 to $10,000 or more, depending on taste and budget. A luxury investment demands a luxury experience, and with Colt Melrose Photography, that’s exactly what you get.
